Myrthe Vinck, b. 1991, Belgium.

Myrthe Vinck’s work explores the intersections of memory and identity, tracing how personal and collective experiences intertwine and leave their marks in landscapes, relationships, and stories. Rooted in photography, video, and film, her practice often begins with a question that invites reflection on how we shape, and are shaped by, the world around us.

Guided by curiosity and experimentation, she embraces the unexpected to uncover meaning. She explores the tension between movement and stillness, presence and absence, capturing moments that hold these contrasts. Through her work, Myrthe seeks quiet dialogue between viewer and image, memory and imagination, while nurturing a sense of intimacy, wonder, and play.

She works in part-time arts education, where she teaches analog photography to adults and leads workshops for children and teenagers, creating open, playful spaces for exploration. During an internship in Northeast Brazil, working with young people in a cultural arts center, she deepened her belief in the power of collective making.

She holds a BA in Audiovisual Arts and an MA in Visual Arts from LUCA School of Arts in Brussels, alongside studies in Cultural Studies (KU Leuven) and Global Citizenship and Development (UCLL). A teaching qualification in audiovisual and visual arts from KASK Ghent reflects her commitment to education as a creative and transformative practice.
